Eric Stoltz in the disappearing photograph from "Back To The Future"

Remember in Back To The Future when there was a picture of Marty McFly and his sibling, and they were disappearing from the photograph because they were being "erased from existence", because there was a chance their parents might not meet and kiss and fall in love at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance? Sure you do! Anyway, as much as my mind was blown by seeing footage of Eric Stoltz playing Marty McFly before they fired him, somehow seeing that they put this photograph together is almost as mindblowing. Man, Eric Stoltz must really be loving the fact that everyone is bringing all this back up all the time. Just wait until the 25th anniversary of Mask or Some Kind of Wonderful, Eric. It'll be your turn soon.

  1. What I never got about the whole picture thing in "Back To The Future" was that his older brother disappeared first, middle sister second, and younger Michael J. last. If this really happened, would birth order even matter? And if they were going to do it in a certain order, it would make sense for the youngest child to disappear first. Wouldn't he have the least chance of survival? Zemeckis clearly doesn't address this to my satisfaction. But whatever, That Johnny B. Goode scene kills it!

  2. This was clearly a script issue. They had to keep the star in the picture for as long as possible. Mr. Zemeckis needs to address this on the new DVD, I think!

  3. Yeah, I know it's necessary for the script, but seriously, for such a big part of the movie, for it to just not be addressed at all is kinda lame.

  5. No, man. I was serious. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm beating down my walls cursing Zemeckis to hell for this glaring oversight, but it is something that I never really got. And if that wasn't enough for you try this out; you know how his siblings disappeared one part at a time? First his brother's head, then his arm, and so on? Well, when Marty starts to disappear at the dance, he looks at his picture and his whole body starts to disappear. Wouldn't he lose his hair and head first like his brother and sister? Had they wanted to stay true to that, they should have had him walking around the stage headless first. OK, I'm kinda kidding on that one, but seriously man, plot holes abound!
